A fungal‐based anthraquinone emodin for polylactide and polyethylene terephthalate in supercritical carbon dioxide ( <scp> SC‐CO <sub>2</sub> </scp> ) dyeing

Bio-based materials and new dyeing technologies have gained growing interest, as companies actively want to enhance their products sustainability remove environmental hazardous pollutants. This article describes for the first time waterless studies using supercritical carbon dioxide (SC-CO2) a natural anthraquinone dye emodin polylactide (PLA) polyester (PET) fabric colouration. The colour of dyed was measured CIELab values, K/S (λmax,abs) value reported. Colour fastness rubbing light studied according relevant ISO standards. results show that small size hydrophobic nature resulted in uniform on PLA PET fabrics with SC-CO2 medium. excellent fastness, microscopic evaluation revealed had penetrated into fiber structure completely. Also properties were exceptionally high dyes. Increased usage biodegradable recycled textiles would benefit from biocolourants which are stable under end-use conditions, produce bright colours acceptable tinctorial strength.
